Icehotel has announced plans to build a permanent hotel alongside its seasonal frozen lodgings within the Arctic Circle, in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden (+ slideshow).

Here are some pictures from last week’s tour of the Ice Hotel. Before the tour, I was hungry. I can heartily recommend a food truck that stands in Jukkasjarvi. It’s called Stejk Street Food and serves street food with Lappish toutch. I chose a sub with venison, mushrooms, onions and dressing.

It’s a ice hotel it’s in the name! We booked the warm room then stayed the next night in a cold room which I think is the best option for everyone. Henrik the guide helped with a issue we had the first night and went above and beyond, reception staff super and lounge staff were great too.
